About Us

North Portland Montessori School is a state certified family child care serving ages 3-6 located in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood. Our small preschool is dedicated to creating confident, peaceful, and independent young people. We approach each child with fresh eyes every day and allow for hands-on learning opportunities through a carefully prepared environment and beautiful Montessori materials.

Our school is located in a lovely home dedicated to our school making it a true "Children's House". In addition to a child-friendly outside play space, we also have a lovely covered outdoor classroom to extend indoor learning opportunities.

North Portland Montessori's enrollment is limited to 16 children and 2 adults to provide a perfect transition between home and school. Children must be fully potty trained to join our community as we cannot accomodate diapering.

Our program is unique in that our teachers, Jessie and Muriah have been working together as a team for over 15 years. Both are experienced AMI trained Montessori educators and provide a wonderful balance to create a nurturing and fun learning experience in a consistent environment.

Our dedicated teachers work with families to help build the intellectual, emotional, and social skills your child needs to become a lifelong learner.
